Bank of India Timings in Lockdown
Due to a nation-wide lockdown in the years of 2020 and 2021 (for 2-3 months each year), most of the offices (government as well as private) remained closed. However, some of the forefront workers remained on duty even at this time. This included healthcare workers, sanitation workers, etc. Bankers were also a part of this team.
The Bank of India also kept its doors open for the customers, however, the timings were changed. Bank of India timings during the Covid-19 lockdown: 10AM to 2PM. There might have been some changes in this time slot depending on the region where the branch was situated. Also, staff worked at a reduced capacity of 50% or even less to limit the Coronavirus spread.
Bank of India Timings Post Lockdown
Once the lockdown was lifted finally, all the banks resumed their normal working hours. The same goes with the Bank of India. The bank is now working at its usual hours of 10AM to 4PM. However, it is still required of every customer visiting any of the Bank of India branches to wear proper face mask, sanitise their hands at the entry gate, get their temperature checked by the security person before entering and maintain social distancing.
Bank of India Lunch Time
As per the RBI guidelines, every bank employee has dedicated lunch slot of 30 minutes or half an hour. This duration remains the same but the timing may differ. The usual lunch time for the Bank of India employees is 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. However, this may be different for some of the branches.
Bank of India Saturday Timings
The Bank of India, like all the other banks in India – public or private, works as per the normal working hours on every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of every month. That said, every 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month is observed as a bank holiday, as per the RBI guidelines released in the year of 2015.
Bank of India NEFT Timings
If you need to remit funds using the NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) mode of payment at a branch of the Bank of India, you need to visit the branch, fill up the BOI NEFT form, write a cheque and deposit these things at the branch.

Bank of India RTGS Timings
RTGS, or Real Time Gross Settlement, is another way of transferring fund from one account to another (within the same bank or otherwise). This can be done online as well as offline, just like an NEFT. However, there is one catch here. RTGS transactions can only be done when the minimum amount to be transferred is Rs. 2 lakhs. If it is less than Rs. 2 lakhs, customers are advised to resort to NEFT or IMPS.
Online RTGS timings: 24×7
Bank of India RTGS timings are as per the current day’s working hours. If it’s a normal banking day (Monday to Saturday, except 2nd and 4th Saturday), you can visit your branch between 10AM to 4PM. It’s advised to visit one hour before the closing time so that if there are any road-blocks, the same can be taken care of within that time-frame.
Bank of India IMPS Timings
An IMPS of Immediate Payment System is a completely online mode of transactions. This is like RTGS but for smaller amounts. There is no capping on the minimum amount, unlike RTGS where the minimum amount has to be Rs 2 lakhs. That said, there is a capping on the daily maximum transaction limit – Rs 5 lakh (except for SMS and IVR payment channels).
IMPS service is available 24×7, i.e. round the clock availability. IMPS payments can be done in any of the following ways:
- Mobile app
- SMS banking (MMID required)
- Internet banking
- Via ATM
- At the branch

Earlier, you could not do an IMPS transaction of more than Rs 2 lakh in one day. But now, this has changed from Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs. The proposal came in last year in 2021 and is now applicable in full force.
Bank of India UPI Timings
UPI or the Unified Payment Interface, is the newest entry in the modes of payments in India. If you’re a Bank of India customer, you can download the Bank of India UPI app from either the Play Store or App Store by the name of ‘BHIM BOI App’.
Bank of India UPI timings: It is an online payment service which is available all the time, regardless of any holiday. This is a completely online payment mode which allows easiest and quickest transfer service. No need to visit your bank branch and stand in queues. All you need is a smartphone and an internet connection along with your bank account to start using UPI.

Normally, Bank of India works from 10AM in the morning and closes the day at 5PM in the evening. This stays the same throughout the working day – Monday to Saturday – except 2nd and 4th Saturday.
The employees of the Bank of India take their lunch breaks around 2pm to 3pm. However, during this hour, banking operations are not impacted as the staff observes their lunch break in shifts.

Upon successful registration, you will receive a notification, click on OK. You’ll receive a Reference No. and Login ID. Note these.
