While most of the banks in India open around 9 in the morning, it is imperative to know the exact opening time of your bank. *The bank remains open till 5PM in the evening but cash transactions can only be done till 4PM. For services other than involving cash are provided till 5PM. This may extend to 6PM in some of the branches. In rural and semi-urban regions, mostly cash transactions are closed by 3:30PM and the bank closes its door by 5 in the evening.
Central Bank of India Timings During Lockdown
During lockdown, Central Bank of India, along with all other banks in India reduced their working hours by 2-3 hours and operated between 10 AM – 2 PM. This was done to curb the spread of the novel Coronovirus. Along with it, the staff worked at a reduced capacity of 30-50%.

Central Bank of India Timings Post Lockdown
Once the lockdown got lifted, all the branches of the Central Bank of India resumed their working hours. Now, the banks operate for the usual time of 10 AM to 5 PM out of which cash transactions are accepted till 4PM. This rule applies from Monday to Saturday of every week barring 2nd and 4th Saturday and any public holidays.
Central Bank Timings on Saturday
Since the 1st of September 2015, all the scheduled banks in India remain closed on every 2nd and 4th Saturday. This is as per the RBI press release stating the same. Except for these two Saturdays of each month, Central Bank operates as per its usual hours.
Central Bank of India Lunch Time
Although most of the branches observe lunch hours between 2-3PM, there is no halt to the customer services. This simply means that one can visit any public branch of the Central Bank of India before the working hours and get their work done, irrespective of the working hours. How is it possible, you ask? This is because the staff takes lunch breaks in shifts which allows a portion of the employees to always be at their desks to attend customers during the working hours.
Central Bank of India NEFT Timings
As per the RBI guidelines, NEFT window is open throughout the day irrespective of any bank or public holiday. This is applicable to the online mode. If you wish to do an offline transaction, i.e. NEFT at the Central Bank branch, you may deposit the cheque or the NEFT form at the branch by 6PM (or 5PM) in the evening – as per RBI.
That said, NEFT transactions take from 30 minutes to 1 hour to reflect in the receiver’s bank account.
Central Bank of India RTGS Timings
RTGS or the Real Time Gross Settlement in the Central Bank of India can be done:
- Online – anytime of the day (24×7)
- At the branch – during the working hours
RTGS transactions take place on the real time, i.e. the amount is reflected in the receiver’s bank account immediately. There’s just one catch – any amount below Rs. 2 lakhs cannot be remitted using RTGS. If you want immediate transfer of an amount less than Rs. 2 lakhs, you should opt for IMPS.
Central Bank of India IMPS Timings
IMPS or the Immediate Payments System is an electronic instant payment system, just like RTGS. This is regulated by NPCI which is a subsidiary of the RBI itself. IMPS transactions can be done:
- Online – anytime of the day (24×7)
- At the branch – during the working hours
There is no capping on the minimum amount to be transacted using the IMPS mode.
Central Bank of India UPI Timings
UPI is a fairly easy and quick mode of online payment. Transactions using the UPI mode are done directly from bank to bank. That said, no bank account details are shared with either of the parties involved in the transaction.
Central Bank UPI transactions can be done anytime of the day, i.e. 24x7x365.
