HDFC NEFT – How Does It Work?
HDFC NEFT payments are controlled and looked upon by the apex body of the Reserve Bank of India. NEFT payments are carried out in batched of 30 minutes throughout the day. Such transactions take around 1 -2 hours to be reflected in the beneficiary’s bank account. However, the amount is immediately debited from the sender’s bank account.
HDFC NEFT can be done using either the mobile/internet banking mode or at the branch.

HDFC NEFT Intra-Bank Fund Transfer (within same bank)
Follow the steps given below to make NEFT payment within HDFC bank account(s):
Step 1: Go to the HDFC Bank NetBAnking.

Step 2: Enter your Customer ID/ User ID, Password/PIN and confirm your Secure Access ID.
(Customer ID is printed on the welcome kit provided to you at the time of opening bank account as well as on the first page of the passbook; Secure Access ID is the image that you must have selected at the time of activating HDFC internet banking in your account).

Step 2: Click on “Funds Transfer” and select “Transfer within the bank” by clicking on “Go”.

Step 3: Enter your details by selecting the account from which you wish to make the payment, transfer type and the beneficiary account. Also add the transfer description and amount and click on “Confirm”.
Step 4: Now read all the details carefully and click on “Confirm”.
Step 5: You will see an acknowledgment slip on your device screen upon successful transaction.
HDFC NEFT Inter-Bank Fund Transfer (to another bank)
If you need to do an NEFT payment to someone whose bank account is in another bank, follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Log in to HDFC Bank NetBanking portal.

Step 2: Select “Transfer to other bank” (click on Go) under the Funds Transfer” section.

Step 3: Select Account (from which funds are to be transferred), Beneficiary (to whom funds are to be transferred), Beneficiary IFC Code, Transfer Amount, Transfer Description, Transfer Type etc. in this form.
Step 4: Read the details and click on “Confirm” to complete the NEFT payment.
HDFC NEFT Timings
NEFT payments start at 00:30 hours and are taken up in half-hourly batches till 00:00 hours – daily. The best way to make an NEFT payment is to do mobile banking or internet banking as these offer fairly easy steps without having to step foot in the branch.
At the branch: As per the branch working hours, you can deposit your HDFC NEFT form physically.
Online: There is no specific time limit stated for online NEFT because the HDFC NEFT window is open 24×7 for the netbanking as well as the mobile banking options.

HDFC Credit Card Payment through NEFT
To make your HDFC credit card bill payment using the NEFT mode, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Log in to HDFC Bank NetBanking portal.

Step 2: Click on “Cards” from the top menu and select “Credit Card Payment” under the “Transact” tab.

Step 3: Select card payment type and click on “Continue”.

Step 4: Select “From Account”, Card No., Card Type and the payment amount. Click on “Continue”.
Step 5: Confirm the details to complete the payment after which you will receive an acknowledgement slip.
