Features of IOB Debit Cards
In this section, we will talk about all IOB debit cards and their primary features like daily cash withdrawal limit, charges of card issuance and annual maintenance fee etc.:
IOB VISA Gold Debit Card
IOB Visa Gold debit card is offered to all the savings account holders with the Indian Overseas Bank maintaining an average quarterly balance of Rs 50,000. It has a daily cash withdrawal limit of Rs 30,000 at ATMs and daily POS and online limit of Rs 75,000 each. The card comes with an issuance charge of Rs 200 (plus GST).
IOB VISA Platinum Debit Card
This is offered to the savings bank account holders maintaining and average quarterly balance of Rs 75,000 with a daily cash withdrawal limit of Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakhs for purchases at POS and online websites. Customers need to pay an issuance charge of Rs 250 (plus GST) along with annual maintenance charge of Rs 200 from the 2nd year onwards.
IOB RuPay PMJDY Debit Card
Offered to all the Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts (BSBDA) in the Indian Overseas Bank. This is a basic debit card and thus have a low cash withdrawal and well as online/POS purchase limit of Rs 10,00 per month and Rs 50,000 per year. It does not fetch any issuance charges but attracts Rs 100 as annual maintenance fee.
IOB RuPay Classic Debit Card
This card has a daily cash withdrawal limit of Rs 20,000 with Rs 50,000 limit on online purchases and POS transactions as well. It’s issued to all savings bank account holders, CC/CD accountholders (individuals and proprietorship only). It has an issuance charge of Rs 50 and annual maintenance fee of Rs 150 (plus GST).
IOB RuPay Platinum Debit Card
Offered to all IOB savings and current account holders, IOB RuPay Platinum debit card comes with a daily cash withdrawal limit of Rs 30,000 and purchase limit of Rs 75,000 at POS/E-Comm portals. Along with this, there is an issuance charge of Rs 150 plus GST and annual maintenance fee which is applicable from 2nd year onwards. The card does not attract any charges for using the card at IOB ATMs for all financial and non-financial transactions like checking IOB bank balance, changing IOB debit card PIN and more.
IOB VISA Signature Debit Card
To use this debit card, you must maintain an average quarterly balance of Rs 1 lakh in your IOB bank account. This is a premium IOB debit card and thus offers higher cash withdrawal limit of Rs 75,000 at ATMs and Rs 2.70 lakhs at POS/online portals. You get exclusive offers on using this card for dining, retails, travel and golf etc. activities. With these benefits, you’d be required to pay annual maintenance charges of Rs 750 (plus GST) for using this debit card.
IOB SME Debit Card
This debit card is only for MSME customers with the following limits:
- ATM cash withdrawal: Rs 50,000
- Daily usage at POS & E-Comm. Portals: Rs 1 lakh
- Annual Maintenance Fee: Rs 100
- Issuance Fee: Rs 150
- Eligible for IOB Rewardz points
- This card can only be used for business transactions
IOB VISA Classic Debit Card
The following are the prime features of IOB Visa Classic debit card:
- Eligibility: All savings bank account holders and current account holders in the name of individual or proprietary
- Daily cash withdrawal limit: Rs 20,000
- Daily usage at POS/Online portals: Rs 50,000
- Issuance Charges: Rs 100
- Annual Maintenance Fee: Rs 150
IOB RuPay NCMC Debit Card
An NCMC or National Common Mobility Card is a transport card issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with various banks in India, including the Indian Overseas Bank. This card can be used as a contactless debit card at POS for a transaction up to Rs 5,000.
How to Block IOB Debit Card?
If you’ve lost you IOB debit card, you can right away block it easily within a few simple steps. This is how:
- Go to IOB website
- Hover your cursor over Digital Banking
- Click on Debit Card Blocking under the Services section
- Enter your account number, regd. mobile number & security code
- Click on Next
Enter the OTP that you will receive on your mobile number to complete the blocking of your debit card.
Another way is to simply call the IOB customer care number or login to your IOB netbanking account and have your IOB debit card blocked instantly.

Indian Overseas Bank Debit Card Activation Online
You can enable e-commerce transactions, contactless transactions and international transactions on your IOB debit card easily using either the netbanking option or the mobile banking option. Here’s how:
Via Netbanking
- Log into your IOB netbanking account
- Click on IOB Cards > IOB Debit Cards
- Now, select Switch On/Off Channels
- Select account number linked to your debit card > Submit
- Select debit card > Submit
- Choose the services you want to turn on
- Enter your funds transfer PIN > Submit
- Enter OTP that you’ll receive on your registered mobile number
Your IOB debit card will be activated for the services chosen.
Via Mobile-Banking
- Download IOB Mobile app and login
- Tap on Card Services
- Select Debit Card Services
- Tap Manage Debit card Limit & Channel Update
- Select services you want to activate on your debit card
- Click on Domestic Limit or International Limit for setting individual limit
- Hit the Submit button
- Check Review page for the changes made and click on Confirm

You can generate the PIN of your IOB debit card easily by visiting any of the IOB ATMs. Insert your card in the machine and then select the option that indicates for PIN generation. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number that you need to enter to authenticate your identity. Once entered, you’ll be able to create your IOB debit card PIN. Another option is to generate your IOB debit card PIN by logging into the IOB netbanking account.

For security reasons, the Indian Overseas Bank does not give the option to apply for an IOB debit card online. You need to visit the bank, provide your PAN and address proof. Once this is checked by the bank officials, your debit card request is accepted.
You can call on the IOB customer care number to block your IOB debit card immediately. Make sure to call from your registered mobile number only. Alternatively, you can also write to atmcard@iobnet.co.in for any debit card related queries/complaints.
The annual charges for IOB debit card range from Rs 250 to Rs 800 for Visa and RuPay cards. For IOB MasterCard debit card, annual charges are Rs 150 only.
