Do you have an issue related to your EPF account? Not able to link Aadhaar with UAN or have 2 UANs? Being an EPF member, one can come across an issue or two sometimes for which the member portal may not be sufficient. EPFO has come up with the EPFiGMS which is an online EPF grievance portal where you can register your issues and check status as well.
How to Use EPF Grievance Portal?
Follow the steps given below to register your grievance in the EPFO Grievance portal:
Step 1: Go to EPFO official website.
Step 2: Click on “Services” and select “For Employees”.

Step 3: Choose “EPFiGMS (Register Your Grievance)”. (refer the image above)

Step 4: Click on “Register Grievance”. (refer the image above)

Step 5: Select the Status (PF Member, EPS Pensioner, Employer, Others) (refer the image above)
Step 6: Click on “Yes” if you have claim ID (for which you want to register the complaint) and provide the same. Else, click on “No” and enter your UAN and Security Code as displayed on your screen.
Step 7: Click on “Get Details”.
Follow the steps as they appear on your screen next.
Once your grievance is registered, you will be given a unique registration number denoting that your EPF grievance registration is now complete. An SMS and/or email will also be sent to you regarding the same. This number will be used to later view the grievance status.
EPF Grievance Status Check
Follow the steps given below to view the status of the EPF grievance registered by you:
Step 1: Go to EPFiGMS following “steps 1 to 3” in the above section.

Step 2: Click on “View Status” (refer the image above)
Step 3: Enter the “Registration Number”, mobile number/email address and security code.
Step 4: Click on “Submit” for EPF grievance status check.

The following are some of the main features of the EPF Grievance Manage System and the benefits one can accrue from it:
- EPF grievance portal can be used by PF member (employee), EPS pensioner, employer (and others)
- EPF Grievance status check can only be done by OTP verification which ensures privacy
- EPF Grievances can be registered easily using UAN and registered mobile number
- Notifications are sent via SMS/Email for the complainant’s perusal
- If there are any pending grievances, setting reminder option is available
- Uploading grievance document requires only EPG grievance registration number and mobile number/Email ID

EPF Grievance: FAQs
EPFiGMS or the EPF grievance management system is available at the EPFO website as well as the UMANG mobile app. Both these options can be used to register EPF-related complaints online.

It’s optional to provide email ID for EPF grievance registration.
It takes approximately 15-20 days to address an EPF complaint. However, it is not an exhaustive period of time.
Yes. EPFiGMS is available in two languages, viz. Hindi and English. At the top of the webpage, there is a tab which shows “English” by default. You can click on it and choose Hindi to change the language.
