If you’ve recently submitted an EPF claim to the EPFO, you might be wondering if your request has been accepted or not. If it’s accepted and you have received the claim amount, you’ll know automatically as you’ll receive an SMS from EPFO. However, if not, you can check the EPF status online using EPFO member portal or UMANG app.
Check EPF Claim Status via Member Portal (website)
Step 1: Type “EPF Passbook & Claim Status” in your browser and click the site with epfindi.gov.in in the address.
Step 2: Enter your active UAN or Universal Account Number and Password. Hit the “Login” button.
Or, you can login to EPFO member portal and then:
- Click “Online Services” > “Track UAN Claim Status”
You’ll be taken to the claim status page where the status of your claim request will be displayed.
Check EPF Claim Status via UMANG (mobile app)
For this option, first of all download the UMANG mobile application in your mobile phone and install the same. Register yourself by simply providing your mobile number and UAN. The process is fairly easy and will take no more than a few minutes. Next:
- Open the UMANG App
- Click on “All Services” from the bottom tab
- Find EPFO by scrolling down the list or search using the search box
- Click on “Track Claim” (refer the image above)
- Enter UAN and then click on “Get OTP” (refer the image above)
- Enter the OTP you’ll receive on your registered mobile number
- Click on “Submit” to get the claim status
Check EPF Status via EPFO Helpline Number
Register your mobile number with your active UAN and then dial the following EPFO customer care number:
1800 118 005
This is a toll-free number which means there will be no call charges. Keep you UAN handy as the customer care executive shall be asking you this.

Yes. To avail any of the online services by EPFO (either on website or mobile app), Aadhaar seeding with UAN is mandatory.
Your EPF claim could be rejected due to any of the following reasons:
· KYC of UAN is not done
· Your bank account details were not correct or your account was inactive
· Incorrect IFSC
