The Benefits of The E-Aadhaar CardHow To Apply For An E-Aadhaar CardWhat Is The Password To Open E-Aadhaar Card?E-Aadhaar: FAQs

Aadhaar is the world’s largest biometric ID system. The system is built on a unique, 12-digit alphanumeric identity number that citizens can obtain voluntarily from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Aadhaar is not proof of citizenship and does not grant any rights to domicile in India. However, it does provide proof of residence that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as for certain unemployment benefit schemes. It is also used by the government of India to ensure that government employees arrive and depart on time. In 2020, the government introduced a new PVC Aadhaar card with several different security features.

The E-Aadhaar card is the electronic version of this Aadhaar card and enables you to bring your Aadhaar ID anywhere with the power of technology. If you’re wondering, “how to get E-Aadhaar card?”, “how to open E-Aadhaar password?” or “how to open E-Aadhaar password to open E-Aadhar?” you’ve come to the right place. Today, we’ll share with you the potential benefits of signing up for E-Aadhar and how the system works. For more information, head over to theE-Aadhar UIDAI.gov website.

The Benefits of The E-Aadhaar Card

The Aadhaar number is a randomly generated number that enables residents of India to have their own proof of identity that is completely independent of caste, religion, creed, or geography. This form of identification can be used for proving identity when using public transportation and is vital for any citizen in need of welfare services. E-Aadhaar is the virtual equivalent of this card and enables you to carry your identity with you without having to be concerned about losing your card. Instead, with E-Aadhaar, your unique ID number is stored digitally with password protection.

There are many benefits to opting into the E-Aadhaar program. For instance, because your information is stored electronically, you can easily use it whenever and wherever you want. As long as you have your smartphone with you, you can easily provide proof of address and proof of identity. The chief benefit of having a digital version of your Aadhar number is that you can get access to government subsidies easier. In fact, because your ID will be electronic, you can easily connect your Aadhaar number to your bank account, and then the authorities will automatically deposit your funds into your account.

Applying for a passport? Need to submit personal information? The E-Aadhaar card makes that easy. By simply sharing your card information, you can automatically submit all of the following information:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • ID Photograph

This saves you from having to deal with an armload of documents proving your identity.

E-Aadhaar is accepted all over the country as a universal identification card. You can use your E-Aadhaar card to open a bank account and quickly submit all of the ID proofs the bank requires. If you are a pensioner, you can get access to your pension payments directly thanks to E-Aadhaar. Plus, new innovations are being created all the time. For instance, the AEPS is a payment system that is currently being tested that would allow you to make purchases from merchants using nothing but your Aadhaar number. As you can see, the versatility and flexibility of E-Aadhaar make it a highly advantageous solution to the challenges of proving identity and for many other purposes as well.

How To Apply For An E-Aadhaar Card

The E-Aadhaar card is a key element of India’s innovative journey into digitization. Applying for your E-Aadhaar is simple and hassle-free.

Step 1: Collect Your Documents

In order to apply for your Aadhaar number and set up your account, you will need a variety of government-issued documents that support proof of identity, proof of address, proof of date of birth, and proof of relationship with the head of the family. After you have collected and prepared the documents, you’ll be able to head to theAadhaar website.Once you’ve accessed the website, you can then download the enrollment form that’s available online. The form is free and available for anyone. Simply print it out and fill it out.

Step 2: Enrol Through An Appointment

Once you have filled out the form, you will then need to find an enrolment centre that is near to where you live. You should be able to conveniently book a time that works best for you using the online system. On the day of your appointment, you will need to arrive at the centre with your documents and the completed enrolment form. At this appointment, the government will examine and approve the documents. Then, you will be asked to provide biometric details (this will include an iris scan and fingerprints). This is required in order for your Aadhaar account to be valid. Then, your photograph will be taken. Once your information has been collected and approved, you will be given a 14-digit reference number on an acknowledgment slip, and you’ll be free to leave.

You can use this reference number to check the status of your application online.

Step 3: Download Your E-Aadhaar Card

After around two weeks, you should be able to log into the UIDAI website and access your E-Aadhaar card. You will be texted a one-time password to the mobile phone number you provided at your enrollment. If your Aadhaar number is generated, your account has been approved.

You will then be directed to a password-protected e-Aadhaar PDF page. Once you have accessed this document, you will be able to download it as electronic proof of your identity.

As you can see, downloading and setting up your E-Aadhaar account is easy and straightforward.

What Is The Password To Open E-Aadhaar Card?

The one element of the process for setting up an E-Aadhaar card that can confuse some people is the password-protected PDF page. The PDF file that you receive when your Aadhaar number is first generated is password protected by an 8-character password. Many people are then left wondering, “what is E-Aadhaar password?” or “how to get E-Aadhaar password?”. The answer is quite simple.

The password is the first four letters of your name written in capitals, followed by your year of birth. For example, if your name was Naya Patel and the year of your birth was 1991, the password for E-Aadhaar would be NAYA1991. If you were curious about how to open E-Aadhaar PDF password, or if you were wondering, “what is the password of E-Aadhaar” this is the answer to your question.

This password protection increases the security of your PDF file and helps prevent your E-Aadhaar card from being stolen or compromised in any way. After you have accessed this PDF, you can then download and even print your E-Aadhaar card.

E-Aadhaar: FAQs

What Supporting Software Is Needed To Access E-Aadhaar?

In order to view the PDF file, you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer.

Is E-Aadhaar As Valid Equally Valid As The Physical Aadhaar Card?

Yes! The Aadhaar Act specifically stipulates that the electronic ID version is equally valid for all purposes and uses as the physical Aadhaar. All government departments and agencies that currently accept the physical Aadhaar number are required by law to accept E-Aadhaar as proof of identity.

What is Masked Aadhaar?

Masking your Aadhaar identity allows you to have a more secure copy of your downloaded E-Aadhaar. With Masked Aadhaar, you can ensure that the first 8 digits of your Aadhaar number are hidden with other characters like this: “xxxx-xxxx”, leaving only the last 4 digits of the Aadhaar number visible. This can be a way to increase the security of your downloaded E-Aadhaar.

What Is The mAadhaar app?

Another version of the Aadhaar identification system is the mAdhaar which is a system specifically optimised for smartphone technology. Currently, mAadhaar is available for both Android and iPhone users. It is similar to E-Aadhaar but works as an app instead of a digital number. It is currently accepted as valid ID proof by both airports and railways.

How Do I Contact Aadhaar Support?

If a mistake is made or if you suddenly identify a discrepancy in your Aadhaar card, you may need support from an Aadhaar service centre. Fortunately, this is easy to do. Simply call the toll-free number: 1947, or emailhelp@uidai.gov.in. You may see other numbers online, they may not be valid. This number and this email are the best ways to contact Aadhaar for any support services you may need.

What is the difference between Virtual Identification (VID) and E-Aadhaar?

Unlike E-Aadhaar, a VID number is temporary. Furthermore, while an E-Aadhaar number is 12-digits long, a VID is a 16-digit random number. Virtual Identification numbers can sometimes be used instead of Aadhaar numbers, but can only be generated by a valid owner of an Aadhaar number. VID can also be changed at any time by the creator and are not stored by government agencies like Aadhaar numbers.
