Real Time Gross Settlement commonly called as RTGS is a unique payment system in which high volume transactions are processed. As per the RBI mandate, all RTGS payments should be processed within 30 minutes from the time of its initiation. Given below are certain details that are required to be filled correctly to avoid any inaccuracy while transferring the funds-
- Beneficiary bank name
- Beneficiary bank branch
- Amount to be transferred
- Sender bank branch name
- Beneficiary bank IFSC code
- Cheque number if the amount is paid through cheque
- Account number if the amount is to be debited from the account
- Beneficiary account type (current/savings/NRE/Overdraft/Cash Credit/Credit Card/Loan)
After you submit the RTGS from, you will receive an acknowledgement slip. Keep the acknowledgement slip with you for future reference.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has a minimum and maximum limit for RTGS transactions, as follows:
The minimum amount for RTGS transactions is Rs. 2 lakhs. The maximum amount for RTGS transactions is Rs. 25 lakhs per day.
